Each one of us goes through different stages in life. And as we go through the journey, we experience the highs and the lows. In this imperfect world, we strive to become the best person we can be. But along the way, there are challenges that we need to face, which could change our lives forever. It is up to us how we see these challenges.
Looking through a partially filled glass – do you see it as half-full or half-empty? Even with just as simple as that, two people may have different opinions about it. But what affects a person’s perspective about the things around him?
I am no more perfect than anyone. But I have learned and strive to see the beauty in each imperfection. I choose to only see the positive side of life because it helps me become more effective in what I do. As a business mentor, I give a lot of encouragement to people. I motivate them to take the leap and stand up for whatever the outcome. Not everything is given to us on a silver platter. Lucky are those who are born with all the best things that life can offer! And to those who live simple lives, a few stumbles here and there should be the source of their strength.
Looking at the people around you, you may have noticed the difference in how they manage their lives. There are only two options- to grow up or give up. Which one will you take?
Growing Up In The Midst
Who do you look up to? One may take inspiration from their parents who struggle to work abroad to provide better for their families. Their bosses could climb the stairs to success by starting out as a janitor. The man was selling balut across the street who hit the big time in a lottery. And shared his blessings by donating a considerable portion of his money to the abandoned elders or even the homeless woman who could send her children to school with her measly earnings from selling flowers. You have seen their own struggles in life. Despite the difference in how they currently live, they all seem happy with how things have become. Each of them had to endure a certain level of sacrifice before achieving their blissful lives.
Going through different ordeals is all but a part of everyday occurrences as an entrepreneur. It is almost impossible not to get a few bumps. Therefore, challenge begets change. Taking up the hat of an entrepreneur signs you up in a stream of roles and challenges in which your goal each time is to conquer all fears and end up triumphant. But are you up for it?

Embracing Change
You may have set out a plan, but somehow it goes the wrong direction. Do you give up? Modifying your plans is inevitable, which is why you always need a backup plan and to be ready to embrace the change.
- Although you have sorted things out for your business, you cannot force your will on your employees. Let them think on their own and find ways to work around your goal. You can inspire them to make the move that would sync into what you have in mind.
- Success is not done over time. It takes some time before everything can fall into its proper places. Time is indeed valuable. But consider how things should be executed appropriately rather than “haste and waste.”
- Going through a transformation, you must have a clear vision of how you want to be. Understand how the process goes and choose the right people to get on board.
- Let your stakeholders be aware of the changes and let them get involved and invested. Let them understand your vision. Being in a business with other people, you cannot just decide on your own without consulting them.
- Going through these changes, not everyone may be seeing the same vision as you have and may also be incompatible with what needs to be accomplished. You may need to hire new people who can work with you and help you with your business. It will be wasting more time and money on people whose visions do not align with yours.
- Communication is an integral aspect of any kind of relationship. Let people know why there needs to be a change to understand rather than a massive surprise without fully knowing the whole picture.
- Listening is equally important as communicating. Allow others to speak their minds about the changes. The people are working on the evolution and those affected by the change. Not necessarily agreeing with all of them, but find time to see things through to each feedback. You can do more modifications that can eventually make a very successful transformation through this. This may be one characteristic that is often overlooked. But every entrepreneur must have the ability to understand other people’s feelings and concerns.
- Not everyone may be vocal about the changes. It may be difficult for some to bluntly speak up. Surveys can be a great way of letting the silent majority speak up.
- The success or failure of these changes depends on how you respond to the challenges. You cannot expect a person to do a task with little knowledge. Extending help to people who may lack some skills by providing them with training or workshops can be extremely useful.
Making Things Work
Even if the changes may take you out of your comfort zone, they welcome change. You only need to remember a few critical points to become successful in any business: strong will, perseverance, and a positive attitude. Sometimes we just need to execute simple plans rather than create complex strategies. Observe how the market demands and develop a scheme that is easier to implement and can help improve the business.
Are you ready to take the next challenge?
