The times we face are considered epic. Has there been such a catastrophic period in every part of the world in the history of humanity? Regardless of race or color, every human being experiences drawbacks. The words “lockdown’ ‘Quarantine’ and ‘Social distance” are often quoted in almost any language. Virtual meetings move from person to person. The world we communicate with is practically through a computer monitor. Families become busier with working from home, and kids study from home.
What matters most are entrepreneurs who have begun to face hurdles in keeping the business afloat. The length of patience began to wear out as uncertainties of when the pandemic would come to a halt.
The survival of the fittest has taken place. Entrepreneurs were on the lookout for other ways to keep the business running. Collaborative efforts were the order of the day. Everyone seeks ways and means to make both ends meets.
Various social media turned to a throwback of the good old days, display of products up for sale, and smiles of previous gatherings. On the other hand, there were scenes when the profile pictures turned black with a candle, a sign of mourning. One touching moment was where two hands were holding each other, either a parent clutching the hand of a dying toddler or a son holding the hand of his dying mom.
Life is challenging and exempts nobody. Many would want to throw in the towel as the burden is unbearable. There are fears of contracting the virus or haunting dreams of dying alone.
Entrepreneurs are constantly challenged to embrace the new environment of doing business.
On the other hand, some people try to keep their heads above the water. Creativity has managed to grow in many ways, leaving many in awe.
Mothers working from home began to manage their time and attend to kids. Side hustle was discovered, like doing what every mom wanted to do, baking, and selling online. Others see the opportunity to study online as an added value to their qualification.
Finally, despite the ups and downs of the situation, one can always seek help from friends or colleagues. Some may not want the idea but reaching out is an alternative. It pays off to share and converse with somebody you know as dependable. Faith has become more profound, holding on as the strong winds and high water keep pounding.
