I was an employee for several years before I became an entrepreneur. It never actually crossed my mind until I realized that I could help motivate others with my communication skills. And that it could actually become a real business. It was difficult at the start. And just similar to other entrepreneurs, I also have dealt with several struggles along the way. But nevertheless, it has ignited my passion. Being able to realize that the people I have helped become successful with their own businesses is a fantastic accomplishment indeed!
I would like to continue to inspire people to use their resources appropriately and take every opportunity given to them. Not every person may have the chance to start something that could eventually become successful. Whether you create your own business from scratch or consider franchising a business, you would always need the strength of Samson. The wisdom of King Solomon, and even the patience of Steve Scully.
Important Lessons No Entrepreneur Should Neglect
To prepare new entrepreneurs for their journey through business, here are a few lessons that would help them get through all the challenges and become successful.
Lesson #1: To nurture relationships.
Being in a business would mean having to widen your network. This can be done by attending seminars, workshops, or symposiums to meet different people. Always perceive this as an opportunity for business.
Lesson #2: Always believe in your capabilities.
Starting up a business may have been your long-time dream. And it is only natural that you would always have that vision in mind. Having that said, unless you believe in your strengths and capabilities, do you think you can become successful? If you wouldn’t, who else would?
Lesson #3: Prove your worth.
Some entrepreneurs may stumble every now and then. In wanting to earn a significant profit immediately, notwithstanding the repercussions from their actions, they try to provide their products and services at a much lesser cost than their competitors. To the point that customers would be thinking if the lowered price would also affect the quality. Patience is a virtue. Always maintain a high rate of products and services that you provide to earn the trust of your customers. Expect that you will also have lean days.
Lesson #4: Be just the way you are.
Be as honest with others as you can. You don’t need to pretend to be someone else. Show them who you are, and you will attract more people.
“Everyone wants to belong or be a part of something bigger than themselves, but it’s important to follow your heart and be true to yourself in the process,” said Emily Griffins.
Lesson #5: Four keys will help you become a great entrepreneur: faith, hope, patience, and hard work.
This is one lesson that applies to any aspect of life. It is absolutely impossible to make your business work without you having to put in time and effort. You build your dream by taking a series of steps until you reach your goal.
Lesson #6: Not everyone will always understand your decision.
You have your own hopes and dreams, which maybe not be the same as others. Therefore, what you deem possible maybe something queer for others. It doesn’t mean that when others don’t think about your dreams the same way as you do, you need to just stop. If you know that you are on the right path, follow where the road leads you.
Lesson #7: Never stop learning.
Always feel the need to update yourself with the latest innovations regarding the kind of business. You may have learned all the basics, but also consider that there may be new techniques, strategies, and products you may use in your business.
Lesson #8: Share your knowledge.
This is one lesson that I have always carried in my heart. I feel I owe the people what I have learned through all the years that I have been with my own business. Since I met several people from my talks, I have also learned from them, which I share with others. Real-life experiences can be the perfect way to encourage others to do better.
Lesson #9: Create a community and find a support system.
You cannot reach your goals alone. And that means that you cannot be successful without having people around you that can help you prosper. Be surrounded by people that can ignite your passion and understand your goals. Surround yourself with people who have the same interests as you so that you can have the chance to exchange ideas and be able to grow together.
Lesson #10: You are not perfect.
Imperfections are not a sign of weakness or unworthiness. It is alright to seek advice from experts. To become successful, you may need as much help as you need. Never look at yourself as being incapable of making it to the top.
These lessons were probably not taught in school. Only when you step out into the real world will you be able to realize that there is still more to learn beyond memorizing numerous chapters of those books. You need to discover and learn to cope with all the obstacles. Sometimes, the hard way, but that should only help you fire up your passion even more.
